Olympics, Bob Costas, and donuts

Last night were the opening ceremonies for the Olympics! I love the olympics. I love the winter Olympics. I love Bob Costas! I love the opening ceremonies! My roommates and I sat around our television and watched the whole thing. It felt like some random parts took forever but I was kind of loving it. Before it all started we took a trip to Giant to buy donuts. Many people have been posting pictures on the internet of donuts and we were having major cravings. We justified buying them that late because they were pretty much the most American dessert (after apple pie, of course) and we have to support our country!

I thought the sets and costumes and music and everything was beautiful. The only big flub up was the 5th ring in the beginning not opening. Oops. Other than that I thought the ceremonies were amazing. There was one part towards the end I was a little confused about but it was still pretty cool. They played music from Tron, c'mon! There was also music from Stravinsky and Tchaikovsky and ballerinas and ah I love it!

The teams walking out seemed to go a lot quicker than I remembered. I guess things that seem like they took forever as a younger kid don't seem to take that long as an older person. There were also a lot of countries I've never heard about before...my roommates felt the same so I didn't feel too bad about not knowing.

I'm really excited for the next two weeks. Sports on all the time! American pride! Figure skating! Ah, the Olympics are just so magical and AWESOME.

Do you love the Olympics too?

Until tomorrow,

Caroline
