my desk

When I really want to get down to business (to defeat...the huns. You know you sang it too) I usually like to work at my desk in my room. It's a nice change of scenery after pretty much living in the library every night. It does have a few drawbacks. I have lots of stuff on my desk that is extremely distracting. Granted, just being in my apartment is extremely distracting. I do prefer to write papers, study, etc in the library or a silent room than my room. BUT, when I do work in my apartment because I don't want to leave for some reason it is my favorite place to attempt to do work.

I always see other bloggers doing posts like, "what's on my desk?" or what one of my favorite bloggers, Mackenzie Horan of Design Darling, likes to call it "desk du jour". The desks she posts are unbelievablely gorgeous. They are so nicely put together, so nicely decorated, just so nice. Mine will be nowhere near as nice because it is a crappy college dorm desk but I think I've made it my own which is the whole point of those posts! What makes your desk yours! So here is what makes my desk mine.

Note: I took these pictures in horrible lighting and with my phone and I am in the middle of writing a paper so it is a bit hectic looking.

This is my desk and the war zone I have created on it.

Behind my laptop is this little French Bulldog calendar my sister got me for my birthday and an earrings holder with a few pairs hangin'! I actually only really wear two or three of these...

Here is the star of the show, the ribbon board thing! I have totally forgotten what they are really called. Oh well. I am sort of a pack rat and like to put "memorabilia" on here. When I take it home every summer it's always really nice to look back and see what I've gathered throughout the year but it's also really annoying because then I have a lot of stuff off the board lying around. The struggle.

One day I'm going to have a beautiful desk with beautiful lighting and it will be just so dang beautiful. You'll see.

It's time to get back to paper writing.

Until next time,

Caroline
